7/15/2016 Special Memories from nursing school:
Loved the dorm, loved my room (424), loved the smoker, dancing @ Papa Joes, studying for NLN's, friends & Senior Party!!

2011:  I worked  35 years as an OR Nurse, first at the VA for 10 years, then at Mil Children's for 15 years, then at Occomowoc Memorial for the last 10 years all the while with my loving husband and raising 2 sons who both graduated from UW Madison.  Thank God that's over and I'm finally retired.  Steve and his wife Hannah, in Madison, gave me a grandson and a granddaughter.  Daniel and his wife Laura, in Seattle, gave me two grandsons.

I Spend 6 months at our winter home in Florida and enjoy musky fishing with my husband when we can get away to our other home in Northern Wisconsin.  I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.  Now if I could only find my old pictures!

7/15/2016 Special Memories from nursing school:
Warm memories of the nursing program & the environment - great, practical teachers who were supportive & provided a stable curriculum from which to grow.  The school grounds, the ponds, the walk from dorm to hospital, the 'drawing room' added to the enjoyment of attending County.  And most important, reflections on life shared for 3 years w/classmates who became life-long friends.  I was a 'baby' when starting in the fall of '63 & graduated w/a sense of growth & maturity along w/awareness of needing to learn so much more!  Cannot begin to express my gratitude for thses years.

2011:
Steve & I celebrated our 44th anniversary & Steve's retirement this past June by vacationing with our children & grandchildren.  Steve had a long-term ministry here in Kirkwood - 32 years in the same parish is a bit unusual.  We had great fun & treasure the people we learned to love.
We enjoy biking together & travel.  Hope to do more of both now altho I continue to work part time.  3-4 days a week is very do-able & I enjoy my work & the folks I work with.  We are heading into EHR in the next month, so by reunion time, I may not be as positive.  I am a Nurse Practioner in Women's Health & not so swift in the computer world (altho I did put together a slide show with music for our grandson's graduation from high school :)
As far as my interests go, I read lots, participate in a group study, am helping to establish a group home for disabled adults, drink too much red wine, work out at our local Y & am begining yoga.  Breathe.....
We invite anyone interested in the sites of St. Louis to visit - but not in the summer months!  Spring & fall are beautiful & we really do like to have visitors.  I am so looking forward to reconnecting with classmates in September!  Safe travels to all.  Cath

Feb 2015 Update:  My husband George & I are both retired & enjoy it tremendously.  We still try to get a little travel time in as long as we can still do it.  Last year, we went to Russia & then I went to Italy & Austria.  Also, I am playing host to snow birds from Wisconsin under the motto: And a good time was had by all.  Greetings, Elke Ballweg

2011:  I joined the Army Nurse Corps after graduation and spent four years in the military at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, DC, in Germany and Vietnam.
Following my discharge I made good use of the GI Bill, earning first a history degree and then a law degree from Loyola University,
Since 1977 I have resided in Los Angeles, working in the field of medical malpractice and later as a trial attorney for Allstate  Insurance Company.
I retired in 2000 only to accept an offer a year later to work as the Legal Advisor to the Vice President of Palau, an independent Pacific Island nation.
Two years later I retired for good.
Since that time, I have travelled  and camped a lot and enjoyed many of the cultural performances that Los Angeles has to offer.
I am excited about seeing every one again.

2011:  Looking forward to reunion. Tony and I moved to Blair onto a farm 13 years ago. I retired from nursing then (last job was in home health care for 14 years). Now I work for love and not money. Raise Galloway beef cattle and a few hens for eggs. We have 3 children and 7 grands. Love to quilt. Started a project this year making quilted bags for a cancer treatment center in LaCrosse for their patients to have something to carry their needs in when they go for treatment. I make and donate all of them (need 300 per year) in memory of my mom who had had cancer. Had my right knee replaced in March,2010 and my left one in October. Hope everyone can make it to the reunion.

7/15/2016 Special Memories from nursing school:
I especially appreciated the ability to experience first-hand all of our disciplines with a dedicated staff.  I loved the classic dorm, the classic design overlooking a gorgeous pond.

I retired in 1989 & spent 1/2 year in Naples & 1/2 year back east.  In 2005, I relocated due to all the activities & golf courses in The Villages, FL.  I built a new home on water & love my retirement - traveled to Africa, China, India, South America & Europe.  Plan to go to Galapagos Islands next year.  Have 2 grandchildren, Anya 7 years old & Nate 10 years old.  They live back east.  My daughter Joelle is a full-time mom as her husband Tom is a vice-president of Global Corp & is traveling a great deal of the time.

6/30/2013 UPDATE:   Going to Galápagos Islands and Amazon River next week (July, 2013) & then back east for part of Aug. with my family.

7/15/2016:  Special Memories from nursing school:
Dances in the gym & clothing drives for the less privileged.

Life Since College:
In 2013 contracted bilateral breast cancer which resulted in bilateral mastectomy, but I am doing well.  Good luck in all you do.  I look forward to continuing good times in heaven next - Diane

2011:  My Nursing career spanned 41 years with the 1st at VA and the rest at Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls, WI, where my husband Jerry and I have lived while raising our 6 children. We were blessed with our 1st two grandchildren, a boy and girl, in 2010 and also celebrated  a daughter's wedding on New Years Eve. We also have another daughter planning a wedding on July 2nd of this year. Family activities keep me busy as well as volunteer work, exercise classes, and I also was taking riding lessons .
Last Fall I was diagnosed with a Nasal Pharyngeal Lymphoma and I'm just completing Chemotherapy with good results. I still may need Radiation but should be back in good shape by September, hopefully with a full head of hair! I know I'll enjoy seeing and swapping old memories with all of you.
